"Manta" CR1 & CR2 Cave Reels Overview
These revolutionary reels been specifically designed to meet the unique ergonomic requirements of cave divers. However, because of its ease of use and versatile grip it may well become the choice of many divers during exploration.The most innovative feature of the CR series is its "Goodman" style ambidextrous handle. The shape and size of the handle enables the diver to obtain a firm, secure grasp without compromising comfort and control. Grip configurations can vary from full hand to three fingers, gloved or bare hands. The location of the handle enables the diver to control line deployment and retrieval by placing fingers, palm or the heel of the hand on the spool.The CR1 Reel has a casted aluminum uni-body frame and the CR2 a bent from a single aluminum plate uni-body frame. The frame's are anodized to reduce oxidation, and all frame and spool machined tolerances are computer controlled to provide tolerances that are close enough to prevent line jump and jams. A large thumb screw can be easily manipulated with even gloved hands, yet is positioned to be unobtrusive. The CR1 thumb screw is threaded into a stainless steel insert to reduce wear and minimize galvanic action. The CR2 thumb screw is a standard 1/4-20 thread and can be replaced with either a nylon or stainless steel screw or bolt.The CR Series Spool's are machined out of one piece of UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) plastic.
